If a class wishes to make changes to their rules, they must follow the procedure as laid out in World Sailing Regulation 10.11. It is within the remit of the Equipment Rules Sub-Committee to establish and maintain the policies for the approval process of proposed class rule changes.

The SCR is designed to standardise the procedure of measurement and definitions between classes. By providing a common format, it is easier for users to find the relevant sections of different class rules easily. Classes which do not have World Sailing status are also encouraged to use this template.

The World Sailing Equipment Rules of Sailing are fundamental to the use of the standard template and shall be read in conjunction with the SCR. You can find the latest version of the Equipment Rules of Sailing here.

For changes to existing Class Rules the following guidelines and templates outline the required procedures to follow the requirements outlined in World Sailing Regulation 10.11. The procedures shall be followed to ensure a timely and fair process for all World Sailing Classes.
